The Neuromantics
BIOGRAPHY
While Jesse Andreasen and Marty Rowley officially formed The Neuromantics in February of 2009, the duo have a long standing history of musical collaboration. Their professional relationship dates back to 1999 when they first started playing together in the progressive/alternative rock band Nothing Simple. Marty and Jesse, along with Rick Gauthier on bass and Chris St. Lawrence on drums, remained active until graduating from high school in 2002. While the practical realities of life sent the members of Nothing Simple in different trajectories, they remained close friends throughout the years that followed. In fact, it would be seven years before Marty and Jesse reunited to work on a new project. Deciding that it would be fun to try the RPM Challenge, the two friends went back to the studio to write and record. The challenge, which requires participants to write and record an album in the month of February, resulted in The Twilight Sessions. A seven song album, The Twilight Sessions explored myriad genres ranging from funk, to rock, to jazz. Excited by the success of the work they had produced in that frenzied month, the two friends decided that the new songs deserved to be played and shared with others. Thus The Neuromantics were born!
